About Us Steve and Joann Cultrera started Eastern VP Sales to satisfy their need for fuel for drag racing and for the needs of local oval track racer and long time friend Bobby Gahan. In 1976, Steve and Bobby put together an initial order for 12 drums from the only distribution point at that time, San Antonio, Texas. In 1983, Joann started working at New England Dragway and eventually became their corporate secretary. At that time, there was no fuel supplier at New England Dragway. At first, it was one drum at a time, but it grew from there. Meanwhile, Steve was intoduced to the track manager at Lee USA Speedway. He has supplied VP Racing fuels to the racers at Lee USA Speedway since 1994. Eastern VP branched into motocross thru a friendship with Rick Ziefielder who founded suspension parts manufacturer Factory Connection and now sponsors 2000 world champion Mike LaRocco and others on the Supercross circuit. Steve met Roland Lachance while selling fuel at Oxford Plains Speedway and that was Steve's intoduction to Busch racing. Steve now regularly works with Roush Racing and others in efforts to keep Eastern Vp's customers out in front. VP now has distributors throughout the world. Eastern VP is the oldest distributor on the east coast, going back to the days when Fred Morrison (now president of VP) and Steve Burns were the voices answering the phone at arranging deliveries at VP. "Our love of motorsports and especially drag racing is evident whenever you call Eastern VP. With new operations manager Bob Taylor (resident circle track racer) on board, we all share a pasion for advancement of all forms of motorsports." "We enthusiastically serve our customers from the shop for however many hours it takes on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and weekends the shop is closed - we are "gone racing". You might see us at any racetrack, racing or helping one of our customers. ANY racetrack: Drag strips, oval tracks, motocross tracks, snowmobile drags, boat races... That's what keeps us and our customers ahead."
